Joy was with us, laying on her wheelchair bed. I noticed that Alex kept glancing over at her. And after a while, she said, "I don't mean to be rude, but what happened to her?" I explained Joy's condition very simply, and that satisfied Alex. I loved her wording, "I don't mean to be rude." Anyway, that little conversation made Alex more to me than a face.
